Know Jesus

What has God ever done for you?

“Jesus, you died upon a cross”

God took our punishment so we could be pardoned for our disobedience. What more could He do?

“God shows His love for us in this way: Jesus died for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8

“And rose again to save the lost”

The fact that Jesus rose from the dead gives proof of life after death and offers us the hope of life forever with God. This profound event turned His followers from cowards to martyrs; was witnessed by over 500 people; recorded in all four Gospels; and documented by the first century historian Josephus.

“God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life.” John 3:16

What do you do in response?

“Forgive me now of all my sin”

So what do you do with your real failures and guilt? Turn to God by trusting in His goodness.

“Even though we were spiritually dead, doomed by our sins, He gave us His own spotless new life–which we could never have earned on our own, it’s simply God’s gracious gift to you” Ephesians 2:4-5

“Come be my Savior, Lord, and Friend”

Jesus calls us to show our love and to honor His friendship by submitting wholeheartedly to His authority and following His leading.

“The greatest love is shown when a person lays down his life for his friends; and you are my friends if you obey me.” John 15:13-15

“What will you and God do from here on out?

“Change my life and make it new”

When you respond to what God has done, He will create a life-changing relationship with Him.

“As you know Him better, He will give you, through His great power, everything you need for living a truly good life.” II Peter 1:3

“And help me, Lord, to live for You”

This new relationship will be a cooperative effort between God’s mighty power made available to you, and your trusting and allowing God to work in you and through you.

“I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” Philippians 4:13-14

The Salvation Poem

Jesus, You died upon a cross
And rose again to save the lost
Forgive me now of all my sin
Come be my Savior, Lord, and Friend
Change my life and make it new
And help me, Lord, to live for You
